Allyson Felix
Allyson Nicole Felix was born on the 18th of November, 1985, at Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained minister at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet elementary school. Felix was a natural athlete and found her passion for sprinting at Los Angeles Baptist High School. A mere 10 weeks after the initial attempt she made, she was ranked 2nd in the 200m race in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix signed a contract for an official career at Adidas in 2003. She after that she enrolled at University of Southern California to pursue a degree in elementary education. The first Olympic medal was won at the 2004 Summer Olympics held at Athens Greece. Felix set a world junior record for sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 secs. In 2005, the Helsinki World Championships saw her become the youngest woman to be crowned the winner of the 200-meter race. She defended that title, beating her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix participated in her first Olympics in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro as well as Tokyo consistently placing within the top three of her races.
